Hemorrhoid ablation (Infrared Coagulation)

Hemorrhoids can be very painful, especially when they are resistant to treatment like creams and ointments. There is a procedure that can help to treat hemorrhoids that are too painful for over-the-counter treatments yet inappropriate for surgery: ablation with infrared coagulation. This is a largely pain-free and non-surgical treatment that uses small pulses of infrared light.

Infrared light is concentrated on top of the hemorrhoid for a very short period, which seals off blood flow to the area and reduces swelling. Healing causes the development of scar tissue to help prevent future swelling in the same area. This treatment is very safe, effective, quick and painless, and it allows for the immediate resumption of daily activities.
